Telstar 28 "Tri-Power"
I removed the old listing for Tri-Power. I am replacing the old Bierig kevlar sails with brand new North Sails. That should happen in about 6 - 7 weeks. At that time, I will give the listing to a local agent. Anyone who is really interested in this boat should let me know before then. I'll gladly knock off the agent's 10% commission.

New North Sails were measured and ordered 3 days ago. Probably close to 2 months to get them.

Re: Telstar 28 "Tri-Power"
Hi Ron,
I sail my Telstar 28 on Tahoe and the old Bering mainsail ripped badly last weekend. I will be ordering a new one from North Sails shortly but will miss out on the rest of the season before it is ready. Is your Bering mainsail still usable, I’d love to buy it as a temporary solution for the rest of the season if you aren’t using it.
Thanks,
Andrew

Re: Telstar 28 "Tri-Power"
Sorry, they're gone. They took both sails for possible measurements to build the new ones.

Re: Telstar 28 "Tri-Power"
North told me the sails will be installed on the boat the week of 9/19. But they have been delayed several times already. Problem was getting enough of the material to make them. They had to upgrade the fabric on the main. Didn't have enough to build both the genoa and main.

Ron,I bought hull # 382and live in Florida. What do you recommend for lightning in our part of the world? Also who would to suggest could teach me about my Telstar 28, as I have only sailed a small mono hull. Thank you very much

For lightning - avoid it if possible. The jury is still out on most of the lightning prevention schemes. I've used "bottle brushes" on top of the mast on some boats. But do they really work?
Count me out as a teacher - I'm selling my boat because I can't really do it anymore. Many of us here can answer questions as needed.
