Joe Siudzinski's HID plates are in different place from mine.

My HIN is Port Side of stern above the rub rail;

Below Joe's is on Stern Port Side but below rub rail.

I suspect there is HIN on the interior of each hull but I really don't know. Both Joe and I have 1981 models, 8M's

This may prove to be one of the interesting differences for the first 260 Telstars built. The last 11 of the 26's and 8M's built, were built in the U.S. between 1980 and including most of 1981. In 1972 the method and format of the "HULL IDENTIFICATION NUMBER - HIN" was standadized. Here is a link describing how the numbers are designated, what they mean and where they should be located as of that year, 1972.

Great Britain, where all Telstar boats or " kit boats " were originally manufactured prior to 1980, may have had there own standard " HIN " or may have followed a European ID system. One of you, in those countries, may be familiar with that system and how a HIN was used prior to Nov 1, 1972. Anyone?

Again, both "Joe S." and my boat were built 1n 1981 would have followed the HIN system established in 1972.

Nothing like this on my boat but I will have a look elsewhere over the next few days.
