Rudder not operating and 20 degrees out from tiller

Gerry-rigged a metal strap as an extension onto the mechanism to allow the tiller to be in correct position when rudder is straight ahead. Left dock and went round in circles with engine pinned to rudder as normal.

Origami had to be towed and the boat did not even want to tow straight with centreboard down and while steering with the rudder. The rudder feels as if it is still attached to the shaft and turns when he tiller turns but the boat is not steering.

Anyone had this problem? I must haul in a Guatemalan boatyard and must be able to direct the workers or they will not understand at all.

Any help would be most appreciated as would a saveable copy of the newer manual.
