Genoa Track shock cord replacement

Post by Mli »

I am hopping to find some specs on replacement shock cords for my Genoa tracks (GARHAUER type) The rails are aprox. 7ft long. Mine are rotted and damaged. Dia. and aprox. length would be nice . Thanks for any help. Mli

With a 150% sail, you're only using about 40% of the track, figure about 6 inches from the aft end to about the middle. A 135 would be a little different. I think I use about 3-4 feet of 3/8 inch of bungee cord, doubled with a knot in the middle. I'd measure it, but we're up in NJ and the boat is down in FL.
