boom hitting bimini top

Post by Seamus »

I recently put up the Bimini top on my Telstar and it seem the the Bimini top is stopping the boom from going down further which means i cannot tighten my sails correctly. This boat came with the larger sails but i find it odd that the Bimini top stops me using the sails correctly. It seems i only have two choices cut the top to cut the sails. has anyone else ever had this problem.

The clearance is very tight. If you move the bracket the the bimini attaches to it changes the height of the top. That said I only have a few inches of clearance.

I raised the tack on my main sail with a shackel, about 2 inches. works fine.
