Missing mast and boom photos

Post by Ron »

Someone asked me for these two missing photos. They were lost when we made the conversion to the new site. One shows the articulated boom that Tony added at around hull 359. The other shows the flexible link at the top of the head stay. Both features were added for sail handling when lowering the mast. You can supposedly leave both sails flaked or rolled when lowering. The U shaped catch at the base of the mast will hold the drum. I have yet to do that, especially with my not very flexible kevlar sails. I'm not sure if Tony kept these features on any of the hulls after mine and I doubt if any 2 Telstar 28's are exactly the same.
