What downwind sail to buy?

Post by wingman »

Kiyoshi Mizuuchi is the current handicapper for CMA and he has my exact measurements, so any penalty is built into the calculations which, as I mentioned before, are fairly complex. I think he also throws in a fudge factor based on past performance. It turns out that we have on Gemini that races regularly and often finishes in the money! He has the best handicap and while I beat him in the race, I cannot usually beat his corrected time. We usually have between 7 and 12 boats on the line.

I am not sure what you mean by published numbers. As we do not have a one-design class, there can be no class restrictions. There may be PHRF restrictions, but we do not use that handicap.

We can probably get you a handicap if you would like to come down to race. There is a good pair of races to Oxford and back on 12/13 September. It is cheap to join CMA.
