Good used Mainsail?

Post by Cruissser »

Wondering if anyone has a good used mainsail for a Telstar 28. Mine is showing its age. If not can anyone suggest someone who makes a good replacement for a reasonable price?

Highly recommend Bierig Sailmaker in Erie PA 814-459-8001. He designed and made all/most of the original sails for T28. He made me one last year and I love it.

I thougth Bering retired. Cruissser - are you still up in SD? Another option is https://sailcrafters.com/ in St. Louis Park, MN. I think they are the ones that did sail repairs on my friend's boat when we were living in Mpls.

Well Randy, I just spoke to Dave Bierig and he told me he just shipped a T28 mainsail to South Dakota. I'm guessing that was you. Good luck with it!

Thanks for all the advice Jim!!

Yup, we received the sail and hopefully will have a calm enough day to put it up and check it out. Not a lot of lakes big enough to sail on here, so we are hoping to do it on the hard.

We really had fun getting to know Dave. What a great guy!! We really enjoyed his stories and learning a bit of history about the Telstars. Dave and his wife sail a 55 foot boat at the age of 87? I hope I do that some day!!

Dave also said there is another Testar here in South Dakota. Is there a way to find out who it is?

Thanks again.
