hi guys,wondering if anyone can help me,problem is ,i broke me swing keel,port side of keel still whole but bottom half stbd side is gone,looks like it is all marine ply and fiberglass encased but what i want to know is there any kind of weight supposed to be at the foot of the keel,ie ,lead or flat piece of iron,my boat it the telstar SP,was only one built like this one,Amas are fixed and do not fold,any info would be much appreciated.

You have a Telstar 35? That's the only one with the keel that I know of.

hi hull 52,its the telstar sp i have,its mark 2 i think,it has fixed amas instead of folding amas,the keel looks exactly same as mk 1,i lost bottom half of stbd side on my mooring,what was left was very clean and leads me to wonder if there was a metal or lead plate inside the keel,i have searched all around my mooring to see if t had dropped there and found nothing unless whatever it was has sunken into the sand,there are no traces of glue or bits of ply on the inside of port cheek,just clean ply,couple bits of brass screws was all i could see.
