Where to stow Petrol for Outboard

Post by Fatboyfinn »

The other day I went to check the boat. As I opened the cabin door a strong smell of petrol - pity, I was looking forward to cup of tea.
I had a sight leak from the priming bulb and consequently an iced petrol growth. This led me on to thinking about petol storage. I keep the
spare fuel in the chain locker which is vented but the current fuel is on a shelf in the lazarette(sp) and therefore no venting. This would not my favourite
place to keep it although its convienient. I was pondering over computer fans and pipes to lift the vapour out of the bilge but feel a bit wobbly about that,
feeling that a better location would be safer. Any thoughts........

Bye the way my daughter lives on a narrowboat on the Cam and whilst leafing through "The Times Waterways of Britain" the part on Exeter Ship Canal - lo and behold Diva - my Telstar. Must be worth £30 just for that!
