Consequently, in the future I will be fitting a bowsprit for a screecher instead. Someone else on this forum wrote an excellent piece on this which is well worth reading. Especially if your are considering setting up for a traditional spinnaker.

Screacher all the way. Dave is working on my main now. Once I get the boat to the yard, I'm ordering a screacher. I already have an Al/Mag alloy bowsprit from one of my beach cats that will be perfect.

I just noticed your saftey rail set-up. Every time I look at your boat, I get more ideas on setting my own up. I was considering making small caps for the rail stanchon brackets so they did not draw water, as I was considering not using them. I did not like the way the rails enclosed the decks. I also didn't like the multiple wires and the weight. I have put large pad eyes on the amas at the front and rear. I use them to lift the hull. If I used spectra kevlar chord as a line between the stanchons, a single safety line would give some protection, would be very strong and would look great. A single line does not destroy the boat's line like the dual wires do.
