Outboard bracket

Post by Evoxrs »

Does anyone have experience of making or retro fitting a mk2 outboard bracket. I have a fixed bracket on my boat and would like to fit one of the adjustable type brackets. Does anyone have any drawings or even detailed photos of the 8m bracket?

I can take measurements Wednesday or Thursday and get measurements off my boat for you. I don't remember seeing anything in plans for those. Unless I hear something different from you I will plan on doing that.

Thanks Pat that will be most helpful.

I am finding that in a chop my engine is frequently in the air one minute and almost submerged the next. I suppose an extra long shaft would be the answer but the boat just had a new engine fitted by the previous owner at a cost of over £2000 I'm not inclined to change the engine just yet. I thought of trying to modify the arrangement with a hinged bracket and some kind of float and counterbalance system that would maintain the engine always at the optimum height above the water. Food for thought.
Best wishes,
Cliff
