Re: Tie Down G5
Mine is rated at 1,000 pounds tongue weight. It can probably handle around 12,000 pounds of trailer. I went for the 1,000 pounds because the tongue weighs around 650 - 675 pounds. You've got to go higher than the actual tongue weight, so 1,000 is the best bet. This does not mean that you can safely pull this kind of weight with any car or truck. It's what the hitch can handle but the tow vehicle may not be able to. Make sure your 2 inch hitch ball is rated for this kind of load as well. Most are not.

If anyone is interested, Trailer Parts Superstore has the disc brake systems on sale (and just about everything else) for 10% off. The sale ends on 9/24.

Hi, so i am back from vacation. The break system works really well. I found a way to test the break system, unplug the electric cable and try to back-up... my trailer would not move, seems I have done a good installing job.
