Ron, I just got the same hitch you have (Equalizer). I noticed in your picture above that you altered the installation of the L Bracket braces. I like what you did, but can't quite make out how you did it. Could you explain it? Thanks.

Not sure what you're talking about - "L" bracket. I guess you're talking about the sliding bar mount on the trailer? I did not modify it. Maybe they revised the design.

You are probably right. The current design for pole tongue hitches requires both link plates to be installed one in front of the other (L braces attach to the link plates). Here's a picture...

Picture of hitch at different angle. Looks similar to your image, but both L brackets are attached with same bolts.
