Broken Center Board

I decided to come down to Florida and do some sailing and ended up breaking my centerboard today. I remember reading somewhere that someone had redesigned one that was pretty indestructible. Can anybody give me any advice on this?

I don't know if this is quite what you are looking for:

Where are you located down here in FL?

Thanks, that helps, I'll look into it.
In Punta Gorda, thinking about heading to the Keys. Where are you located?

Up in Ocala, FL. We are looking at putting our boat up in the Hernando Beach area.

I posted about how I replaced my centerboard while on the trailer, and in the section "REPLACEMENT CENTERBOARD AVAILABLE" you will find a great place that can manufacture a very solid centerboard at a reasonable price.

Just search for the topic and I am sure it will pop up for you. Lots of valuable information about how to disassemble and reassemble the drum, and with any luck the video is still available.

Thanks Wooden,

Yup, the video is still available and very helpful. Quite a clever design! The video took a several hour exploratory event and turned it into a simple half an hour removal.

Here's the link should any one else have a bad day:

Had a friend send me the following link that I found interesting and may help someone who wants to make their own.

I know that someone has written some notes on doing the replacement. I remember seeing them a few years back. Is it still on here?
