Removing/Replacing Vinyl Padding in Cabin

I need to add a cable connection at the mast, and for that I need to pull down some of the padded vinyl where the new cable is going to come into the cabin. However, I don't see how the vinyl is secured, or how I can do this non-destructively. Can anyone tell me how the vinyl is attached, e.g. is it only glue, or are there fasteners, and what is the best way to remove it in order to have access? Thank you.

I had to do the same thing a few years ago. It is a pain because it appears the header is glued with foam pad above the vinyl. What I did was remove trim at the forward and aft portion of the head and used an electrical fish tape to make a small tunnel in the header. I was then able to run a pull string through to pull wires and then hide them behind the trim as the exited the header. I think it looks pretty good and does the job. It was not easy. Perhaps someone else has a better idea.
