AC in a Telstar?

Post by Cruissser »

Has anyone put an air conditioner in a Telstar? I see they make some very small units with around 6-9000 btu. What size do you think a guy would need? Where would you install it?

Just kicking the idea around....

Ok - I'm 6 years late on this, but I got busy. We have used an ac only when we were in a slip. We have a small window ac that we put in the companionway and rigged an enclosure around it. It worked great but it made it inconvenient to get in and out. Then, we bought a used dometic specific for boats and it didn't work near as well and didn't fit very well over the hatch. I would like to find one that can run off batteries, but I haven't found one that would work very well. They tend to drain the batteries quickly.
