My faux cigarette lighter stopped working, but when I removed it, the 12 volts was OK at the terminals. I looked closely inside the Sea Dog-made female connector and there was what appeared to be a ring of melted plastic about the center contact. My theory is that when I was night sailing through crap pots (motoring, actually) with the big lamp searching for pots to avoid, I must have pulled too much current and melted the plastic. Now the center contact on the male connector will not reach the contract on the female.
I would appreciate it if someone could look at their connector to see if theirs is flat or if the circular ridge is normal.
Thanks,
John Enderle
