how to remove rudder, Telstar 28

Telstar 28'ers:,
I am a new Telstar 28 owner and am looking at having the boat transported a considerable distance to my home. I had hoped to remove the rudder for the road trip to protect it, and am now left with asking the shippers to try to remove it without me there. The manual did not seem to have info on this. Can anyone provide some guidance on if and how the rudder could be easily removed? Thanks in advance....

I trailered mine from Annapolis, MD to Bloomington, IN and securely tied the rudder up to the mast. I recommend this way.

Mine was trailered from North Carolina to Indiana without even securing it in any way, just don't remember if it was up or down. But I would still love to hear from someone who did the disassembly as my raising/lowering rudder mechanics definitely needs an overhaul.
