Motor steering arm interference

Post by anthonyk »

Regarding the T28, when the motor is in the down position, everything works fine, but when I raise (tilt back) the motor (when sailing) the motor linkage/steering arm moves down several inches and interferes with the tiller linkage, preventing it from moving freely. I hope that makes sense. Has anyone had this problem?

If I understand what you are indicating, the answer is yes, and that is why there is a pin to uncouple the tiller from the motor linkage.

Hi Wooden, thanks for responding! With the motor uncoupled ( pin out) and motor tilted back, I have the interference problem. What can I do to solve this? I only have this problem when I tilt the motor back for sailing..

That is interesting. I dont know why you still have interference with the pin out. Perhaps someone else can help. Sorry that I don't have a solution for you.
