rudder lifting system

Post by escape »

Does anyone have the rope mounted this way (arrow 1)? why is it done this way? my problem was that the clutch was getting loose, but i can't tight the bolts because the rope is underneath.

My rudder is hard to lift so as I read in other post I will make sure that the rope run free to the rudder and maybe change the rope with smaller size. I installed an opening port to gain access at the system (photo 2).

It's done on the downhaul line to help insure you don't have it "too snug" so that in the event of an impact on the rudder it will "pop up" and not break!
